On Wednesday the 19th of June, the whole of Upton Junior School went down to the Upton Recreation Ground for Sports Day. We had 12 stations and each class was sent to one, we began each activity when the coach blew a horn. For some of the activities we worked in our house groups which are Lulworth -yellow, Brownsea - blue, Corfe – red, and for others we worked individually or in ability groups.
Some of the activities we did were:
Hula hoop racing
Long distance
Furthest beanbag throw
Hop skip jump
Sprint
Accuracy beanbag throw
Long jump
Javelin
Egg and spoon race
Skipping
Hockey dribble
Relay
After we had completed the children’s races it was time for the parent’s races. There were two, the egg and spoon and the sprint race. We later watched the presentations and found out the house that had got the most points was Brownsea. Well done Brownsea! It was a great day and luckily it remained dry.
