Welcome to Year 3!
What a week! Well done to everyone who has; pressed buttons, downloaded, taken photos, uploaded photos, pressed more buttons, smiled, grimaced, laughed, nearly cried, said "No, it's not snack time yet,'...it's been an emotional learning rollercoaster...but we did it! It will only get smoother as the weeks go on and we are overwhelmed by the quality and amount of work that has been uploaded to Teams this week.
The children in school have been incredibly resilient too. They are really missing their friends but have shown a maturity in making new friends and helping each other out. We couldn't be more proud of what everyone has achieved this week.
We have had some feedback that the 'teaching videos' are more useful so we are trying to do most morning lessons in this way. We have got over that 'camera shy' feeling and want what's best for our children. We will make mistakes though and they won't be perfect by any means. We are recording using the app 'Streams' which is a video channel that Microsoft Office is familiar with. It appears to work best in Google Chrome (not Microsoft Edge), and if you can't get to the video link through the assignments, you can log into Stream with your child's e mail address and password. You should then be able to select the video from there.
We are expecting to see all children who are working from home log in to their guided reading sessions, join class assembly and upload some work this coming week (either to assignments or the class e mail). Assignments is the preferred location for Guided Reading, Literacy and Maths as we can give feedback. We have uploaded more 'Broader Curriculum' work for next week. The children at school are covering these lessons but they are optional at home. The 'morning' learning is the most important as we are covering crucial Year 3 National Curriculum skills.
Please keep in touch. It has been really helpful to get immediate feedback if something is missing, inaccessible, really good or just a positive 'thank you'.
Take care and keep safe,
Mrs Stacey and the Year 3 Team
Remember to still use your online learning: Bug Club, TTRS and Purple MASH.
The school code for Bug Club is MCQS.
