Welcome to Year 6
Hello to all
We have started Year 6 so well - we are so pleased with how well everyone has settled.
If you were not able to attend the Meet The Teacher meeting last week, please have a nose through the powerpoint below and contact us with any questions.
Thanks to all who attended the PGL meeting - if you were unable to, please find my powerpoint presentation below. Please do contact me if you have further questions. A non-refundable deposit is needed by the end of October.
Wednesday 5th October is WWII day with Paul Nolan - we are asking all children to dress up as something to do with WWI if they can - maybe a soldier or an evacuee... (or just wear camouflage clothes?)
There are so many things to look forward to this academic year. We love a trip - we have many throughout the year including Birdwatching in Poole Harbour; Holdenhurst STW in Bournemouth; Race Farm solar energy at Lytchett; Beach cleaning on the coast; Crime and Punishment in Dorchester and PGL in Osmington to name but a few....
We will have some visitors in too - Paul Nolan is a World War 2 specialist who will do a whole day workshop with our Y6 children - and hopefully maybe a visit from the RNLI or the Coastguard to talk about water/coastal safety.
Of course we have our SATS in May to work towards and we are confident that our children will do their very best.
We also have a new Year team:
Mrs Solomon (year lead) with Mrs McVeigh in 6 Anning
Miss Morgan with Mr Langdale in 6 Hopper
Mrs Williamson and Miss Giles with Mrs Whitehall in 6 Somerville.
Things to remember include:
Our Class emails are now set up so if you wish to contact one of us, please email us on the appropriate email below and we will try our very hardest to respond within 48 hours.
