Wow! What an amazing afternoon and evening!
Our pupils, staff and Governors were astounded by our special musical visitors- world renowned electric string quartet Escala. Lucky pupils were treated to an amazing performance by the girls in a special assembly aimed at inspiring more of our pupils to want to learn an instrument. We were fortunate that the band stayed at the end of the day to meet and greet pupils, answer questions, and autographs and take selfies! In addition to this already spectacular opportunity, everyone was also invited to watch the girls perform in the evening at the Classical night of Upton House Music festival; also featuring Sir Bryn Terfel & Australian Soprano Lauren Fagan who were accompanied by the sensational Bournemouth Symphony concert Orchestra. Two of our lucky pupils also won our in-school competition to meet Sir Bryn and Lauren, also bumping into Escala backstage too!
Thank you to everyone involved who made the day a very special and memorable occasion! Special thanks to Escala's manager Vicky Corley Smith, Stephen McManus from Upton House, Adam Jackson (Director) and Daisy Smith (Presenter/DJ) from Hot Radio 102.8FM, Ed Baker from Deep South Media and of course Vic, Stephanie, Honor and Helen from Escala!
